System requirements
- Android: Android 8.0 or later. The dictionary and audio install with the app: about 180 MB to download, about 700 MB once installed.
- Linux: 64-bit (x86_64). Made for KDE Plasma 6 on Fedora; works on other desktops too.
Download only from official sources
Every package is signed by the developer, VNET LIMITED. For the Linux packages, the signing key fingerprint and checksums will be published on this page at release, and your system checks the signature on every install and update. Please download Ivy Dictionary only from the app stores or this site.
The first time you open it
- Android: the first launch prepares the dictionary, which usually takes two or three seconds. After that it opens straight away.
- Computer: set a lookup shortcut in Settings → 取词 (Lookup), then select English in any program and press it.
See Help for more.
Permissions it does not need
Ivy Dictionary works offline; the Android app does not even ask for network access. It only asks to send notifications if you turn on review reminders. See the privacy policy.
